Laynie Meredith went 2 for 2, and Bella Meyers had a double. Rylee Scheurer threw four strike outs in the second game as pitcher. After the game, Shamrock coach Jocelyn Rockey said, “Tonight was our first softball spring outing and with tonight’s games we were able to identify highlights and also areas that need immediate attention and growth after Spring Break. Among tonight’s highlights was our pitching- we are so proud of the out of season work Rylee and Carly did to develop into composed and mature pitchers with excellent pitching sets. Emma also had her first Varsity debut and her out of season work was evident especially as she battled through a game one injury. We hit the ball well when we were aggressive in the box, and Carly even added our first HR to our season. Despite the highlights, there were also very significant areas that need work. We had way too many errors and some struggled to remain aggressive at the plate. Both of those factors took us out of each game in our double header. We are young and we have true athletes that care about our program. Our coaching staff is looking forward to returning from Spring Break and putting in significant work to help us prepare for our league contests.”
