RAVE’s annual event raising money for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Do you have your tickets for “Corks and Kegs,” the spring wine and beer tasting event to benefit Relief After Violent Encounter – Ionia/Montcalm, Inc.?

The annual RAVE fundraiser is set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Shadow Ridge Golf Course and Banquet Center, located at 1244 Kelsey Hwy., in Ionia Township.

The ticket price of $25 per person supports free and confidential programs and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Ionia and Montcalm counties.

“The Corks & Kegs fundraiser provides much needed financial support for the RAVE safe house,” said RAVE board president and event co-chair Ginger Roberts. “Attendees have so much fun with the silent auction items while enjoying music, wine, beer, and food. Contributing to an amazing and much needed organization is the perfect way to spend a Friday evening.”

The event will feature specially selected wines from St. Julian and a selection of craft brews, offered by City Built Brewing and the Pubb. Also, on the menu are hors d’oeuvres, live music presented by Julie and Rush Clement, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Corks & Kegs is open to those 21 and older.

“Domestic and sexual violence affects us all,” said RAVE Executive Director Jennifer Butler. “This event makes a real and immediate difference in the lives of the women, men and children affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.” One hundred percent of the proceeds from the ‘Corks & Kegs’ event makes it possible for us to continue to provide free and confidential services to individuals in crisis.”

This year Corks & Kegs is being presented with support from several amazing businesses and community members. These include, Alternative Systems, Ventra, Farm Bureau Insurance – Jack Griffin Agency, Biggs Dickinson and Roberts Wealth Management Services, Michigan One Credit Union, Viking Chiropractic, Portland Federal Credit Union, Herbruck’s, Sparrow Ionia Hospital, Sparrow Carson Hospital, Lake Funeral homes, Greenlink, Squeegee Squad, Portland Family Chiropractic, Portland Products, Farm to Fork, Divine Autobody, Dan and Janet Balice, Chris and Ginger Roberts, Culp Chiropractic, Live Local Realty, Biggs, Hausserman, Thompson & Dickinson P.C., Lehman Funeral Homes, Virgil and Connie Biggs, and Michelle M Lyons, Attorney @ Law.

“We are excited for another successful RAVE event this year! Mark your calendars for May 26, 5 to 8 p.m., and enjoy wine, beer and coffee tasting, music, and many wonderful silent auction items,” said RAVE board member and event co-chair Maria Blackmer. “And thanks to our sponsors for their support of ‘Corks & Kegs’!”
