The Portland High School wrestling team traveled to the Don Johnson Fieldhouse (home of the Olympic Champion Kevin Jackson) to take on Eaton Rapids (10th in Division 2) in the CAAC White Division and Fowlerville and Lansing Eastern for CAAC Red Crossover matches on Saturday, February 20th.

The Raiders finished the day 3-0 beating Eaton Rapids 37-31, Fowlerville 52-21 and Lansing Eastern 65-15. This moved the team to 4-1 on the season, with their only loss to #3 ranked and Division 2 powerhouse Gaylord last week 39-38.

Coach Pulling was excited by the Raider Grapplers, “Our guys are meeting adversity head on this year. I am proud of each of these guys and their ability to stay focused and motivated all the while training at a high level. I am excited for their futures.”

Catch the Raider Wrestlers on Facebook Live as they travel to Ionia to compete in the Ionia County Championships on Wednesday, February 24th against Ionia, Lakewood (#8 in Division 3) and Belding. This is a highly anticipated matchup as these teams will see each other again in just a few weeks for a battle for a District Championship.
