Raider Wrestlers defeat Carson City and Pine River

On Wednesday night, the Raider Wrestlers traveled to Carson City to take on their hometown Eagles and the Bucks from Pine River. The Raiders prevailed in both duals winning 69-12 against the Eagles and 54-24 against the Bucks.

PHS Coach Andy Pulling said, “The night was exciting with quick moves and strong pins for the Raiders. Going undefeated on the night for the Raiders were Collin Fernholz (103 lbs), Jake Olson (112 lbs), Connor Gleason (119 lbs), Ethan Webert (125 lbs), Isaac Kramer (125 lbs), Drew Miller (130 lbs), Caiden Pelc (135 lbs), Trent Trierweiler (140 lbs), Isaiah Pelc (145 lbs), Jackson Weygandt (189 lbs) and Branson Goodman (215 lbs).”

The Raiders are currently 7-1 overall and state ranked 8th in Division 3.

Pulling added, “Look for more Raider Wrestling as the Varsity B team travels to Fowlerville on Saturday for an invitational and the Varsity A team gears up to earn the Ionia County Team Championship on Wednesday at Ionia High School.”
