Raider Softball ends Season with 2-1 loss to Lakewood

The Portland High School softball team traveled to Lakewood to face the Vikings in MHSAA Pre-District competition on Tuesday.

Despite a gem of a performance by senior Portland pitcher Sophia Novara, who struck out seven Viking batters while only allowing three hits, the Raiders fell to Lakewood 2-1.

Senior Brooke Seal led the Raider offense with two doubles and reached third base in the seventh inning of play to be the potential tying run.

The Lady Raider softball season comes to and end with an overall record of eight wins and 19 losses.
