Raider Soccer Falls to Eaton Rapids

Portland Varsity Girls Soccer faced Eaton Rapids in the first round of the CAAC Cup Tuesday evening. The Raiders got off to a good start capitalizing on a goal off a corner kick by Maddie Luxmore that found Ashley Bower in the front of the net for a header in the upper right corner of the goal. At the half Portland led 1-0. ER was able to even the score 1-1 ten minutes into the half. The Raiders would regain the lead later in the half with another goal from Bower off a pass from Ella Gruber. Eaton Rapids would tie the game with six minutes left to end regulation 2-2. The game went directly to penalty kicks however the Raiders were unable to secure the win.
