Raider Baseball sweeps Lansing Catholic and Williamston

Game One: Portland 7 - Lansing Catholic 2


The Raiders started out strong with 4 runs in the first inning against League rivals Lansing Catholic Central. The Cougars got their first 2 runs in the first inning and never scored again. Trent Trierweiler, the righthander was the winning pitcher for the Raiders throwing six innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out ten. Mark Nobis threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ryan Leonard, Trent Trierweiler, Caden Thelen, and Mark Nobis each collected one hit to lead Portland Varsity Raiders.


Game Two: Portland 5 – Lansing Catholic 3


Portland Raiders Early Lead Over Lansing Catholic Sets Stage For Victory. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead over Lansing Catholic and took home a 5-3 victory on Tuesday. Mark Nobis, the lefthander surrendered three runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one to lead the Raiders to Victory Trent Trierweiler led the Raiders with two hits in four at bats.


Portland vs Williamston 4/28/22


Game One: Portland 6 – Williamston 0


Portland Varsity baseball defeated the Williamston Hornets 6-0 on Thursday! Brady Bush got the shutout win for the Raiders. The righty lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out nine. The Raiders secured the victory thanks to four runs in the third inning. The Raiders batters contributing to the big inning included Caden Thelen, Brady Bush, Marc Nobis, and Carson Martin, who all drove in runs. The bats were on fire while the Raiders totaled 12 hits. Barrett Brennan, Jorgen Sonday, Caden Thelen, and Trenton Trierweiler each racked up multiple hits to lead the Raiders.


Game Two: Portland 20 – Williamston 0


Caden Thelen threw a shutout to lead the Raiders past Williamston 20-0 on Thursday. Thelen allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Bats continued to stay hot with 12 hits in the game. Ryan Leonard led the Raiders to victory by driving in four runs. The Raiders put up 11 runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Thelen and Leonard, doubles by Leonard and Carson Martin, a walk by Jorgen Sonday and Mark Meyers, and a groundout by Brady Bush. Leonard, Bush, Martin, and Thelen each managed multiple hits for the Raiders. Leonard led the way going 3 for 4. The Raiders stole eight bases during the game while Trenton Trierweiler led the way with four steals.
