Ready to discover the art of preserving food?

Join us at First Congregational Church in Portland on Tuesday, October 21, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm for an engaging journey into the timeless techniques of storing food. From salting to smoking to canning to honey-soaking, learn the many practical, research-based ways to keep harvests fresh, flavorful, and safe year-round.

Presented as part of the “Nature Therapy” series by FCC and Portland Parks & Recreation, the session blends tradition with modern science. Participants will learn how to reduce waste, stretch their food budgets, and savor seasonal bounty long after harvest.

The free program is open to all, and registration is not required.
