Portland District Library Launching Teen Book Club

The Portland District Library is launching its first teen book club, Page Turners.

The group will be reading the book, The Grief Keeper by Alexandra Villasante. It is about Marisol, who is seeking asylum in the United States with her sister, after her brother was murdered in El Salvador. She and her sister are detained by ICE and have been denied green cards; however, they may be a way to stay in the United States if Marisol agrees to become a subject in an experiment to literally take the grief from other people.
