Portland Bowlers split with DeWitt

Portland High School’s varsity bowling teams faced a tough challenge against Dewitt on Monday.

Girls coach Joe Whitford said, “On the girls’ side, it was a very exciting and competitive match where every pin counted. Bowlers and parents were on the edge of their seats as this match would possibly determine the league championship.”

The girls team improved to 8-1 with a 19-11 victory.

The Portland boys fell to 10-1 with a 6-24 loss.

Coach Daniel Graef said, “Just too many missed spares in the baker games to recover.”

The Raiders will face Ionia at Ionia Bowling Alley on Tuesday.

Division 3 region 14 = High School Regionals will be held:
