Lady Raiders defeat Bulldogs

The Portland High School girls basketball team hosted the Bulldogs of Ionia on Friday night in a CAAC White match-up.
The Lady Raiders put in a dominate defensive performance and beat Ionia 49-19.
Ionia sophomore guard Alexias Daugherty led the Bulldogs with five points.
Junior guard Malia Thelen led Portland with 12 points. Freshman guard Lily Thelen added 11 points. Freshman guard Summer Stopcynski scored five points while junior Ella Gruber, junior Jayden Townsend, freshman Claire Lyon and sophomore Paige Spedoske each scored three points for the Lady Raiders.

Ionia 8 – 2 – 2 – 7 – 19
Portland is now 7-2 overall, and 3-0 in the CAAC White. Next week they travel to Haslett (8-0 overall) on Tuesday, then to Holt (7-2 overall) on Saturday.
