Heavy Police Presence in Sunset Ridge on Thursday

Around 11:30 AM today, residents in the Sunset Ridge manufactured home community in Portland observed a heavy police presence.

In an email to the Beacon at 12:23 PM, Ionia Count Sheriff Charlie Knoll said, “It was a domestic situation. The victim was out of the residence when Officers arrived. Subject was armed with a weapon inside of the residences. Officers were able to make contact and talk with the subject and end the situation peacefully. The investigation is still in the process.”
