Guilford wins MIAA Individual Championship

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Individual Wrestling Championships were held at Olivet College on Sunday, January 30th.


Portland High School graduate Owen Guilford took first-place in the 174-pound bracket. According to Olivet College Athletics, “He posted a 3-0 record, with a 58-second pin, 16-0 technical fall and 9-0 major decision in the championship match.”


He was one of six Comet wrestlers who won individual MIAA titles on Sunday.


Guilford, a junior at Olivet, was also named the Dean Trailways Co-Male Comet of the Week.
