Featured Business: Simon Insurance
Mike Terranova and Bob Burskey are the proud owners of Simon Insurance, a company that has served Portland since 1982.
Simon Insurance is an independent agency. It is licensed to sell insurance policies from multiple companies.
“When we are serving a client, we compare policies from an array of different companies, and we help the customer choose the policy that has the best coverage and which has the best rate,” said Terranova.
Simon Insurance sells homeowner’s, auto, business, and life insurance. Other forms of insurance are also available.
Mike and Simon Insurance have enjoyed success in Portland.
“I attribute our success primarily to my staff,” said Mike. “Our staff treats our customers like family members,” he said. “This level of customer service is what separates us from other agencies, such as those that are found online. Our staff helps foster good communication with the client, and that in turn helps us to meet the client’s expectations. This is what makes all the difference,” he said.
Mike and his partner recently bought a new building to house the agency, located at the corner of Kent and Bridge Streets. Mike says that this larger building will help the agency to grow and to better serve Portland.
Mike is from Lansing, but he admires Portland.
“This is a great, tight-knit community,” he said. “It’s unique in quality and in character. Everyone here supports the town,” he added. Mike sums up the business philosophy of Simon Insurance simply and effectively.
“We take the time to help people understand their policies, and we make sure that everything is done right,” he said.
