Autumn Schafer to continue cheer career at Alma College

PHS senior Autumn Schafer recently signed to continue her cheer career at Alma College next year.

In her time at PHS, Schafer received many accolades in cheer, including Academic All State (2020-2023), All Conference (2020-2023), First-Team All District (2022 & 2023), First-Team All Region (2023), Second-Team All State (2023), Greater Lansing Area Dream Team (2023), Top 10 CAAC scholar athlete.

She told the Beacon, “I’ve been doing Sideline Cheer for 11 years and Competitive Cheer for 7 years.”

When asked about her choice of schools, Schafer said, “I will be attending Alma College where I will be a part of the Cheer and Stunt Team! I’ve been attending clinics at Alma since my freshman year and they have always been so welcoming. After spending the last 4 years thinking about where I wanted to go, I realized that Alma feels like a family and there is no place I’d rather be!”

Schafer added, “I would like to thank my coaches for always pushing me to be my best and my teammates for always being there for me. I am so grateful for everyone’s support along the way and I wouldn’t be where I am without them!”
