Portland Public Schools seeks to fill multiple openings
The following is from an email sent to PPS Superintendent Will Heath to district parents on August 26th, 2020.
Several of you have asked for us to let you know if there is anything that we may need as a district this school year. I do have a request. In order for us to offer in-person instruction I need to have enough staff to effectively offer a safe learning environment. We have increased our staff for this year. Most of our positions are filled but we do have some vacancies. Every year we struggle to have enough bus drivers, support staff, and cleaning crew. On top of that, substitutes are hard to find. Now more than ever we need a full staff daily. We will have staff absences for various reasons throughout the year and not just COVID related absences. So, I am asking for your help. If you know of anyone that would be interested in working part time, full time, or substituting in the district please send them our way. See below for more details.
