On June 1, 2020 the Portland City Council adopted Resolution No. 20-35 stating its intent to sell a certain city-owned property located at 111 through 241 Liberty Lane which has been determined to be surplus property and no longer needed for corporate or public purposes. This property consists of 13 units (55 thru 67) that are part of the Cherry Hill Estates Condominium, Tax Parcel # 34-300-075-000-005-55 thru 34-300-075-000-005-67.

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Portland in the City offices at 259 Kent Street, Portland, MI 48875 until 3:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The City Council will review the bids at its September 21, 2020 meeting. The Council reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive bid irregularities, informalities, or nonconformities, to negotiate specific terms with any selected bidder(s) and to accept any bid that it deems to be in the best interests of the City of Portland. The Council may consider factors other than the consideration offered such as, but not limited to, the uses to be made of the property, the amounts to be invested in the property and the improvements to be made after purchase and other factors it deems important to determining what is in the best interests of the City.

The successful bidder and related development are bound to the existing rules and regulations of the Cherry Hill Estates Condominium including, but not limited to, the condominium Bylaws and Master Deed along with all other local approvals and conditions. Closing and other transaction matters shall be at the discretion of the City in consultation with the successful bidder.

If the Council deems a bid generally acceptable, a second notice of intent must be published and a copy of the proposed resolution approving the transfer must be placed on file with the City Clerk for at least 10 days in advance of its passage.

This notice of intent is published in accordance with Section 11.3(b) of the City Charter.
