SALARIED POSITION OPENING: Business Analyst
Reporting to: Plant Controller
Date: 7/9/2020
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for using data analytics to calculate and evaluate business decisions for TRA Michigan. This role involves cost accounting and financial analysis of various manufacturing and other company processes.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)
Preparation of cost inquiries for existing products changes and newly manufactured products
Preparation of business cases for new product and process launches
Calculation and maintenance of standard cost system – rates, hours, overhead absorption, etc.
Tracking variance analysis between standard costs, budgeted expenses and actual costs
Monitoring profitability of major programs for the facility
Validating and analyzing cost improvement projects
Modeling business scenarios such as make vs buy, discounted cash flows, etc.
Assist with future forecasts and variance explanations
Compile data driven responses for various information requests
Utilize and maintain accuracy within multiple software systems – SAP (PR9 and TG1), Siemens Team Center, Oracle FCCS budgeting tool, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with various internal and external audit requests
Assist with the general ledger functions and account reconciliations
Track and report project spending in SAP
Provide backup to various departmental functions as directed.
Support continuous improvement efforts through participation on cross functional teams
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field for a four-year university
One to three years’ experience in Accounting preferred
Experience in the Manufacturing industry preferred
Excellent data management and computer skills required
Excellent verbal and written communications skills essential
Experience with SAP or other ERP system
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize needs to meet deadlines
Ability to be flexible and perform as a leader within the Accounting Department

POSITION OPENING: Layout Inspector
Reporting to: Quality Manager

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for Inspecting a wide variety of product components, tooling, and gages to make certain that dimensions and quality of product will be within prescribed tolerances before releasing for manufacturing purposes. Adjust, calibrate, set and utilize a wide variety of gages used in manufacturing and inspection. Perform any other duties with inspection functions as directed
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)
Ability to effectively utilize complex drawings/specifications to make surface layout arrangements for inspecting. components, complicated tools and gages, in-process machine parts, finished assemblies, determine tolerance dimensions, bends, surface finishes and stock allowance.
Check new tools and/or fixtures to specifications prior to their release.
Use profilometer, comparator, sine bars, hardness testers, surface plates, micrometers, height gages, jo blocks, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and related inspection equipment and techniques.
Must be able to work overtime.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsible for producing precision measurements therefore must be detailed and accurate in job practices. Close visual attentiveness and accuracy must be applied on a consistent basis. Establish and maintain accurate inspection records utilizing both hard copy and computer programs. Both organizational skills and attention to detail is critical
Qualifications:
Journey status or appropriate certification required.
Have basic knowledge of math, geometry, trigonometry, and metrology.
ERGONOMICS:
Normal effort is expended when handling forgings, machine parts, tooling, gages, and finished assemblies. Parts handled vary from light to heavy.

JOB OPPORTUNITY - Toolmaker

Position Summary:
Promote teamwork and convey a genuine interest in supporting the lean production philosophy. Maintain acceptable levels of performance as measured against department benchmarks. In addition, provide input relative to continuously improving the overall production performance of the department.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)
Setup and operate all Tool Room equipment to perform highly diversified machining, grinding and assembling operations on manual and CNC machines
Manufacturing and/or repair of precision jigs, fixtures, dies, tools, gages, samples and production parts
Required to use a wide variety of machines such as saws, drills, mills, lathes and grinders to make parts from steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass or plastic
Able to use hand and bench tools to fit, polish and lap prior to assembly operations
Able to determine the most efficient method for production quality parts
Able to perform re-sharpening operations on a large variety of tooling and cutters
Must be able to interpret complex blueprints and design specifications, starting with raw material, plan and layout all operations to be performed, and end up with a completed part
Must make precision measurements and set ups with comparators, sine bars, surface gages, micrometers and gage blocks
Experience in welding tool steels, cast iron, and aluminum preferred. Must be able to work overtime when required
Additional Responsibilities:
Be a team player – able to work with tooling team, production team and other employees, vendors and management
Responsible to minimize any negative impacts on the environment
Report work-related incidents immediately
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize and problem solve is essential
Exert considerable muscular effort in dismantling machines, lifting heavy parts while utilizing proper equipment and using hand tools
Be a team player
Adhere to all established health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
Preferred Journeyman or certificate in the Toolmaker trade and/or relative experience
Must have own set of tools
