Portland City Council Approves Purchase of “New Street Sweeper”

June 2, 2020

The Portland City Council voted to replace its worn down 21-year-old street sweeper at its regular meeting Monday Night.  The new street sweeper is a 2017 Tymco 600, which was a “demo”prior to the City’s purchase.  “Purchasing the demo saved money but did not reduce the quality”, according to City Manger Tutt Gorman.  Cost of the Tymco 600 is $ 224,000 and will be financed over seven years.
