Ionia County has Two Confirmed Coronavirus Cases as of March 28th

According to the 3:00 PM daily update from the State of Michigan on Saturday, March 28th, Ionia County has two confirmed cases of Coronavirus. The State now has 4,650 confirmed statewide cases with 111 deaths.

In a post on the Ionia County Health Department Facebook page on March 26th, the department said, “Brief follow-up to our first positive COVID-19 case. In speaking with the patient and close contacts, there does not appear to be any recent history of travel.” “This suggests to the Health Department that community transmission is occurring in Ionia County. Please take the "Stay Home" order and other guidance seriously.”

The department has also issued a workplace screening guidance and checklist that can be found at HERE.

The State of Michigan cumulative totals for confirmed cases can be found HERE.
