Rehearsals are well underway, and the Portland Civic Players cast and crew are eager to present you with one of the most enduring plays in American history, Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town. It tells the story of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, and the simultaneously remarkable, and everyday lives of its inhabitants over the twelve long (and short) years from 1901 to 1913. Narrated by the omnipotent State Manager, and anchored by the love story of young George Gibbs and Emily Webb, Our Town is a play about life: at once epic, ordinary, and fleeting. The New York Times writes: "Our Town presents a long-gone way of American life, yet the eternal truths it embraces are as touching as ever."

The Stage Manager is portrayed by Antonius Watkins, Emily Webb, by Emily Perry and George Gibbs, by Rory Miller. Also included in the cast are Bob Stevens as Dr. Gibbs, Rosemary Camp as Mrs. Gibbs, Roger Miller as Editor Webb, and Deb Hattis as Mrs. Webb. The cast also features Liz Hager as Simon Stimson, Shaaron Solomon as Hattie Newsome, Veronica White as Rebecca Gibbs, Simon White as

Wally Webb, Amanda Laming as Mrs. Soames, Cecelia Little as Joe Crowell, Leon Eli Miller as Professor Willard, Tim Perry as the Belligerent Man, Pam Robinson as the Lady in a Box, Allen Randall as Constable Warren, Tom Smith as Man among the Dead, Alexis Hilliard as Si Crowell, Lyndsey Camp as Sam Craig, Richard Hans as Joe Stoddard, Logan Reeves as Mrs. Carter, Mya Kahn as Woman among the Dead, Shelby Camp as Townsperson, and AnnMarie Thomson as Townsperson.

Our Town is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company. This much beloved classic is sure to please all!

The PCP production is directed by Tom Little and Shelley Perry. Play dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 20-22, and Friday and Saturday March 27 and 28. All seats are $10 and will go on sale to the public on Monday, February 24. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:30pm.
