Shamrock boys fall to Potterville
On Wednesday, February 19th, the Portland St. Patrick's Shamrocks traveled to Potterville for a game with the 11-4 Vikings. Potterville jumped out early and never looked back, downing the Shamrocks 83-49.
In the first quarter, buckets were few and far between for the Shamrock boys, and they dropped the quarter 23-6. Ryan Lay, Chase Fitzsimmons and Connor Cross all put in 2 points for the Shamrocks.
In the second quarter, the Shamrocks woke up and won the quarter 15-14. Connor Cross and Ryan Lay both put in 5 points a piece to lead St. Patrick. Potterville still led 37-21 at halftime.
After the break, the Vikings came out on fire and put up 29 points on the Shamrocks, while holding St. Patrick to 13. Evan Schrauben led with 4 points. This left Potterville firmly in control with the score 66-34 going into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter didn't bring any surprises, with Potterville continuing to gain, winning the quarter 17-15. Connor Cross and Chase Fitzsimmons both had 4 points for the Shamrocks.
Offensive leaders for St. Patrick were Connor Cross with 13 points 9 rebounds 1 assist 1 steal and 1 block , Ryan Lay with 9 points 7 rebounds 1 assist and 1 block, and Chase Fitzsimmons with 8 points 8 rebounds and 1 assist.
