Developers for a new Portland Taco Bell have submitted their site plan and application for a Special Land Use, including a traffic study, for City Planning Commission review and consideration. A public hearing is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, March 11th at 7:00 PM at Portland City Hall. The Zoning Board of Appeals will consider the developers variance requests at the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on March 9th. If all goes as the developers have planned, then construction will be authorized to begin.

The new Taco Bell will be on the corner of Grand River Ave. and Bristie Street. Currently the Red Tomato is in the process of moving to Kent St. under a new name and the car wash behind the Red Tomato will be removed so that property can become part of the new Taco Bell. Residents may remember that several years ago a Taco Bell was previously located near the same location in what is now Olivera’s Restaurant.
