Ionia Conservation District Announces Annual Meeting and Photo Contest
Annual Meeting
Join Ionia Conservation District for their 2020 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 18th at 6:00 pm. Speaker Jenny Mensch will be joining us to talk about the importance of pollinator conservation and how The Monarch House, at Fenner Nature Center has raised and released more than 300 monarch butterflies to aid in the preservation of the species. These monarchs are carefully reared, checked for parasites, tagged, and released in hopes to give them a good head-start to make it to their overwintering grounds in Mexico. Learn more about this and how you can bring similar conservation practices to your own backyard through native wildflower plantings. The Ionia Conservation District offers a variety of wildflowers, seed, and garden kits, as well as landscaping options to help you get started! Visit https://www.ioniacd.org/product-category/potted-wildflowers/ to view the variety of wildflowers we carry and bring any questions you may have to our annual meeting. Event location is 115 S. Steele Street Ionia, MI 48846. Free to attend and heavy Hors d'oeuvres will be provided!
