Fischer Klein Named 2019 GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team
Fisher Klein, a St. Patrick School graduate and member of the 2019 Saginaw Valley State University football team, has been named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Excellence Team for the Fall 2019 semester.
According to a January 21st release from SVSU, “A total of 882 student-athletes achieved all-academic recognition, including 403 on the All-Academic team and 479 on the All-Excellence list.”
The release went on to say, “Saginaw Valley State University had a total of 89 student-athletes earn all-academic distinction from the league, with 44 landing on the All-Academic Excellence list and another 45 on the All-Academic list.”
As for the criteria to be selected for the Academic Excellence Team, the release stated that a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0.
The 6’ 2” 285-pound Klein played two years of division III football at Alma College before transferring to SVSU. The offensive lineman competed in all 11 games for the Cardinals during the 2019 season.
