On Tuesday, January 7th, the St. Patrick's Shamrocks ended their Christmas break with a trip to Bath. Unable to shake off the rust, the Shamrocks fell to the Bees by a score of 61-36. The Bees extended their lead in the third quarter, winning it 15-8. Connor Cross led the Shamrocks with 4 points. This left the score 41-24 with Bath leading. The fourth quarter was more of the same, with the Bees continuing their advantage, winning the quarter 20-12. Connor Cross again led the Shamrocks with 8 points. Offensive leaders for the Shamrocks were Connor Cross with 15 points and Sam Mauren with 9 points. Ryan Lay also had 5 points and 9 rebounds. Coach Brett Pettit was not too disappointed with his teams effort. "We had a lot of great practices over break and spent a lot of time on us. We all felt ready to go for this one from the tip. We were pretty sound defensively til late, but it comes down to putting the ball in the basket and we really struggled again tonight with that. I feel as if a couple shots that rattled out early the the game go in, we have a ball game. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We will keep working and we will be back home Thursday against a very good Potterville team."
