The Christmas season is coming up fast and the Portland Civic Players want you to join them in kicking it off. They are presenting a one-night only, semi-formal event a “Christmas Cabaret” on December 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Portland Community Theater. This event is a 21 and up show featuring new and classic Christmas music with multiple performers, led by our energetic emcee, Jonathan Showerman. Performers for this holiday kick-off are Kent Bennett, Chris Horvath, Lynette King, Michael Peterman, Sara Pohl, Chandra Polasek, Laurita Showerman, Robert Showerman, Mary Teachout, Maggie Timmer, and Mattie Timmer.
Tickets are $30 and include heavy hors d'oeuvres catered by Olivera’s and two drink tickets for beer and/or wine as well as non-alcoholic refreshments.
Mary Teachout, PCP Board President and one of the organizing committee members says. “We are very excited to be doing an event like this. It is a new venture for us and we hope people will come and enjoy the evening. We will have a buffet set up and tables throughout the theater. The performers are excited for something different and ready to go. While we focus on family shows a majority of the time, we thought it would be nice to give the adults in town a night out for the holidays that is just for them.”
Tickets for the Christmas Cabaret can be purchased online at www.portlandcivicplayers.com and are limited.
