Obituary for Beverly Ann (Griggs) Hamlin

Beverly Ann Hamlin, age 85, of Portland, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019. She was born October 17, 1934 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Paul S. and Muriel E. (Wall) Griggs. Beverly was a faithful and devoted member of the Portland United Methodist Church, where she was the Treasurer for 18 years. She also enjoyed knitting and she used her talents to create hats for premature babies at local hospitals and blankets for newly baptized children at the Methodist Church. She also worked for many years at the Portland Middle School and Central Soya.

Preceding Beverly in death are her parents; husband, Bruce Hamlin; sister, Barbara Hosner; and son-in-laws, Roger Price and Adam Schyllander. Beverly is survived by her children, Timothy (Cindy) Hamlin, Terri Sue Price, Matthew (Marilyn) Hamlin, Jennifer Schyllander, and Mark (Andrea) Hamlin; 8 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be officiated by Pastor Letisha Bowman at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Portland United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice (htohhfoundation.org) or Prestige Way Assisted Living (4300 Keller Road, Holt, Michigan 48842) in memory of Beverly.
