Shamrocks dominate the Tekonsha Indians
On Saturday, September 7th, the Tekonsha Indians visited Portland for a matchup against the St. Patrick's Shamrocks. The Shamrocks started fast, and never looked back, easily beating the Indians 57-0. The Shamrocks dominated the 1st quarter, featuring two rushing touchdowns from Ned Smith, one rushing touchdown from John Schneider, one passing touchdown from Zach Spitzley, one rushing touchdown from Payton Russman, and one passing touchdown from Braxton Teachworth. The Shamrocks stifled the Indians defensively, not allowing a first down in the quarter and ending the first quarter up 43-0. With a running clock throughout the second half, the Shamrocks played conservatively and ended up with a 57-0 victory. Offensive leaders for the Shamrocks were Ned Smith, who had 5 carries for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Connor Cross who went 5 for 6 for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Shamrocks gained 416 yards total, and only gave up 132 yards to the Indians. Defensive leaders for St. Patrick's were Alex Kissane with 15 tackles and 4 TFL (tackle for loss), Derec Fedewa with 12 tackles, Jeff Davlin with 9 tackles 2 sacks and 3 TFL, and Riley Kissane who had 9 tackles 2 TFL. The Shamrocks are off this week due to a forfeit, and will next play in Webberville on Friday, September 20th at 7:00 pm.
