We are a little bit quieter than normal… and that is OK
You may likely have noticed that the number of stories we have been posting on the Beacon in the last few weeks has been a bit lower than usual. I just wanted to reach out and tell you that it is nothing to worry about. A little bit of quiet is OK.
Myself and our team of contributors have not totally checked out for the summer. We have several pieces in the works… but we are also taking some time to relax and recharge with our families, and to catch up on some other personal responsibilities we each have.
Just this past week, while enjoying the sunset at Little Point Sable Lighthouse near Silver Lake with my family, my 10-year old son Deacon grabbed my phone and said, “Dad, can I take some pictures for the Beacon.” You can find his photos above. I think he did a great job.
Some of the stories we have in the works are also a bit delayed as key contacts are taking some time off of their own.
Just a glimpse of a few pieces you should be seeing very soon:
Our Student-Athlete of the Year
A piece on mental health services available locally
Fall High School Sports Previews
VFW Wheel Chair Ramp Effort
A grant to improve safe walking routes to schools
Wellness Center at Health Source Physical Therapy
Personally, I am also working on some new revenue streams to ensure the Beacon’s sustainability. This is a never-ending challenge.
So again, there is nothing to work about. We should be back into full swing in the very near future.
Thank you all for your continued support of The Portland Beacon.
