City to Host Sesquicentennial Canoe/Kayak Parade on August 24th


The City of Portland Depart of Parks and Recreation is organizing a Canoe/Kayak parade to happen on August 24th.

The cost is $20 per watercraft and includes one t-shirt. Additional t-shirts are available for $12 each. Participants are encouraged to dress up in clothing from any era in history and to decorate their watercraft to match that same era.

The parade will start at the Thompson Field boat launch and will end at the Portland Dam. Shuttles will be available to pick up participants at the Portland Dam and drive them back to Thompson Field. Shuttles will be available from 2pm-3pm and will NOT pick up watercraft. Registration deadline is August 3rd. Event sign in starts at 11:30am.
