Raider Softball Takes First at Manistee

The Portland Varsity Softball team improved its record to 20-6 by traveling to Manistee and winning their tournament. In the first game Portland defeated Mio AuSable 6-5. Coming up big for the Raiders was Natalie Linebaugh who went 3 for 3 and scored on a triple in bottom of the final inning to secure the win for the Raiders. Brooke Seal went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. Emma Selden pick up the win striking out 10 Thunderbolt batters and walking only one.

In the championship game Portland defeated the host Manistee Chippewas by the score of 8 to 2. The Raiders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back. Jada Walton put on a hitting exhibition going 3 for 4 with a double and scored 3 runs. Natalie Linebaugh went two for four and Allison Summers and Olivia McBride each add a double. Emma Selden again earned the win improving her record to 5 and 0.
