Raider Golf Beats Central Montcalm Hornets
In a non-conference, dual match played Thursday afternoon at the Portland County Club, the varsity boy’s golf team rebounded from their struggles at Tuesday’s home match to defeat the Central Montcalm Hornets. The Raiders finished yesterday’s match with a season’s best nine-hole team score of 172 to Central Montcalm’s 243. Scoring for the Raiders was: Match medalist Zach Pier who shot a three-over par 39; Hayden Getchell turned in his best nine- hole round of the season with 41; Spencer Pohl carded 45 and Ethan Getchell rounded out the Raiders scoring with a 47.
With three golf matches remaining on their regular season schedule, the varsity boy’s golf team currently has a hold on second place in the CAAC White Division with a 22 and 8 record; they are 1-1 in non-conference dual matches and have 30-24 record in tournament matches.
The Raiders return to the links for their third match of the week this afternoon (Friday) when they travel to Deer Run Golf Course to play in a dual match with Lowell.
