Accepting Entries for Youth Sports Directory 2019

The Portland Beacon is creating a directory of local youth sports programs available in the community. We are strong supporters of youth programs and hope this directory will help parents and guardians gain a better understanding of all that is available locally, while at the same time help promoting local organizations.

While the physical benefits of youth sports, like physical fitness, weight control, muscle development and coordination, may be obvious, participation in these programs can also help develop other skills like teamwork, self-esteem, communication, discipline and perseverance.

Some studies even show evidence that participation in youth sports may even correlate with higher test scores, greater college success, and for young women, a decreased likelihood of being victim of domestic violence or sexual assault.

If you are involved with a local youth sports program, and would like your program included in the directory, please email the following information to jim@theportlandbeacon.com no later than Saturday, April 27th.
