PFCU Employees Provide Donation to the Portland Community Fund Association

Employees at PFCU came together to provide a donation to the Portland Community Fund Association. The Portland Community Fund Association is a nonprofit organization that is offering grants for people who own homes or businesses damaged by the recent flooding in Downtown Portland. The Portland based credit union saw an opportunity to support these efforts through a special Jean’s day, where employees received permission to wear casual work attire for the day with a minimum contribution. Not only did the employees donate their own money to these relief efforts but the credit union matched 100% of the employee contribution to maximize the donation. With the match, PFCU is providing $2,336 to be used in the community grant program.

“So many of our staff and their families reside in this community, it was instinctive to do whatever we could to help our neighbors,” says PFCU’s President/CEO, Harvey Hoskins. In addition to the monetary donation, PFCU opened its doors as a warming center and continues to welcome anyone looking for a work space to utilize if their current space is unavailable due to flooding.

Samantha Butterfield with the Portland Community Fund Association, commented that “The Portland Community Fund Association is extremely thankful for the contribution PFCU has made to these relief efforts and proud to have PFCU as a continuing partner in the community.” The Portland Community Fund Association will continue to efforts to raise grants monies for those affected.
