Tickets are now on sale for the Portland Civic Players spring production, Ken Ludwig's Baskerville. In this comedy thriller, author Ken Ludwig transforms Arthur Conan Doyle's classic The Hound of the Baskervilles into a murderously funny adventure. The male heirs of the Baskerville line are being dispatched one by one. To find their ingenious killer, Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Their intrepid investigators try to escape a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit as five actors deftly portray more than 40 characters. Join the fun and see how far from elementary the truth can be.
Mr. Sherlock Holmes is portrayed by Clay Ramsey with Antonius Watkins as Dr. John Watson. The remaining characters, nearly 40 in all are played by Krysta Koenigsknecht, Rory Miller and Jonathan Showerman.
Portland Civic Players is excited once again to be collaborating with local organizations for this production. $5 from each ticket sold will be split between the Portland Community Fund and Ionia County Relay for Life. “We are so excited to be able to bring this fun and entertaining show to our community; and thrilled to be partnering with these two local organizations and help raise funds for very worthy causes. We have enjoyed such great support from this and surrounding communities over the years, and this collaboration is a great way to give back!" said Mary Teachout, PCP President. "We hope to see folks from communities county wide at the show!”
