Portland’s girls defeated Ionia 28 to 2.

Coach Joe Whitford said, “Our baker games were awesome today shooting at 216 and a 174 great scores. The girls did an awesome job continuing to be undefeated for the season very proud of them.” Portland boys defeated Ionia 21 to 9.

Coach William Armour III said, “It was a nice win for Portland boys getting us closer to the CAAC championship.” The coaches also extended a special thanks to the Portland school board, PHS Athletic Director Kevin Veale, and Superintendent William Heath. It was announced Monday night that Portland High School will recognize and bring back bowling as a high school sport with support from the school and administration. This will help our high school bowlers and our coaches be more successful in the upcoming years. A special thanks to the Portland high school bowling club that has continued a great program forward to give us this opportunity.
