St. Pat's Achieves Victory Over Fulton
St. Patrick's hosted the Fulton Pirates and were able to pull out a victory over a solid team, winning 57-47.
The 1st quarter was hard fought all the way through, eventually ending in a 14-14 tie. The Shamrocks were had 3 players score, with Brandon Scheurer and Sam Mauren both putting in 5.
In the 2nd quarter, the Shamrocks were able to pull ahead a bit, winning the quarter 24-18 and taking a 38-32 lead into half time. Brandon Scheurer exploded on the scene, scoring 13, and Nate Leahy put in 9.
After the half, it was a defensive struggle for both teams. The Shamrocks were just a bit stingier, winning the quarter 10-5, and extending their lead to 48-37 after 3 quarters.
The Pirates won the 4 quarter, but could not overcome the Shamrock lead, with the Pirates outscoring St. Pat's 10-9 in the final 8.
A significant milestone was reached by Shamrock Senior Guard Brandon Scheurer, when he scored his 1,000 point. Brandon led all scorers for the night putting in 24 points 5 rebounds 3 assists and 3 steals, Connor Cross had 9 points 5 rebounds and 1 steal, and Nate Leahy had 9 points 1 rebound 2 assists and 1 steal.
The Shamrocks were scheduled to play Dansville at home on Tuesday, February 12th, but that game was canceled due to weather.
