Make Ya Double Take will be opening their new retail/pick-up location located at 110 E. Bridge St. in downtown Portland at 10:00 AM on Monday the 14th.

Owner Casey Gloden said, “If you visit our store one thing that will make you double take is our inventory. It will be constantly rotating. You will see different things every time you are in the store.”

Gloden said, “We will run an online auction from our location at www.makeyadoubletakeauctions.com. All opening bids are $1.00. If you win an item you pick it up right at our store. Eventually, when we have enough bidders we will make it so anyone can sell right from the comfort of their home and when an item they are selling sells they simply drop it off at our store and pick up a commission check. All our displays are on wheels so we can turn our store into a live auction house or host estate sales. Which we work with a couple local estate sale companies.”

Gloden grew up in Portland and is a 1993 PHS grad. He said, “I have been an auctioneer for over 5 years now. Finding a couple local mentors in the business to take me under their wing. I have been setting up at flea markets and gun shows since around the age of 9 with my grandfather.”

A health scare was a motivating factor in Gloden deciding to start his online auction and eventual retail location. He said, “Around 5 years ago, I was hospitalized for three weeks with congestive heart failure. three weeks after leaving the hospital, I suffered a heart attack. That is when I really realized how short life can be and it was time to shoot for the stars and turn dreams into reality.”

Gloden married his wife Stacy in July. Their family consists of Emmett 23, Ajay, 11, Collin 10, and Trevor 2.
