Raider Head Football Coach John Novara has been nominated for the 2018 Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Year Award presented by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan.
To place a vote for Coach Novara, please go to www.detroitlions.com/coachoftheyear. You can vote every hour until Saturday, November 24 at 11:59 pm.
According to the poll site, “The Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan High School Football Coach of the Year receives a $4,000 donation to his school’s football program in addition to being nominated for the Don Shula NFL High School Football Coach of the Year, which includes an invitation to Orlando for the NFL Pro Bowl. All winners receive a certificate signed by Lions’ head coach Matt Patricia and National Football League (NFL) commissioner Roger Goodell, a personalized game ball as well as acknowledgement at an in-game ceremony on December 2 as the Detroit Lions take on the Los Angeles Rams.”
It was announced today that if Coach Novara wins, local Farm Bureau Agent Jack Griffin will contribute another $4,000, increasing the total award to the Portland Football Program to $8,000.
As of the time of publishing this article, Novara is in first place with over 30,300 votes. But Raider Nation should not relax. Coach Craig Tibbe of Hudson Unity Christian, our championship game opponent, is not far behind. Tibbe trails Novara by only 400 votes.
