Boys Tennis Finishes Tied for Second in the League

Portland took a close second to Lansing Catholic at Thursday's CAAC White championships. We ended up losing 4-3 against the Cougars in head to head play and that decided the tournament. However, Portland did have some very successful flights. 4 Singles - Jack Roe, 3 Doubles - Alex Russman & Kurt Kraczon, and 4 Doubles - Cade Vallier & Ryan Leonard were all flight champions. We also had 3 runners up with 1 Singles - Aryan Virk, 1 Doubles - David Yang & Gabe Hankey, and 2 Doubles - Finn Mull & Marty Thelen. The team was up and down on a windy day, but in the end they played very well. They have shown a bunch of improvement since the last time we saw LCHS. There will be one more chance to get them at regionals next week. Before that the Raiders will play Holt next Tuesday in their last dual match of the season.
