Local Ban on Burning Now in Effect

The Portland Fire Authority has issued a burn ban. According to their website, http://www.portlandfiremi.com/, “Due to unseasonably dry conditions, Chief Krizov has issued a BAN on burning, including campfires, within the district, which includes the City of Portland, Portland Township, and the northern part of Danby Township. This is in effect until further notice.”

According to The Weather Channel, the soonest the Portland area may see any significant participation would be Monday, July 16th.
