The PHS varsity softball team split with Lansing Catholic on Thursday night in a league matchup.

In the nightcap Portland lost by the score of 4 – 3. Natalie Linebaugh went 2 for 3 and Sophia Novara had a big hit in the top of the seventh inning when she hit a double to the fence and drove in two runs to put the Raiders in striking distance just to come up short.

Portland is now 16-6 for the season and 5-3 in the league. Their tournament at Ann Arbor Skyline this weekend has been canceled due to weather and will not be rescheduled according to the Portland Athletics website.

Their next scheduled contest is Tuesday, May 15th at Fowlerville, followed by Saturday, May 19th when they travel to Manistee for a tournament.
