Coach Jim Niebling said, “After 10 days without being able to play a match, this tournament is exactly what we needed in order to put practices into context and take a step forward. Our goal of the day was to be a better team leaving than when we entered, and in many ways, we were a stronger team thanks to the competition. Playing 3 full matches was a new challenge for our younger players, who now have a better idea of what to expect during tournament time. The challenge of taking on a very solid Allegan team served as motivation for the veterans, who are setting their sights on improving to be able to compete at a higher level. We have a lot to build on after the tournament, and the girls are motivated to do just that...as long as we can keep playing outside!”
