Coach Jim Niebling said, “We opened up play at home against a very strong and experienced Haslett team. Although the scores may not quite show it, there was good competition on every court. We learned that this team full of young blood has the potential to be very competitive, as long as we continue to dedicate ourselves to working hard and improving every day. The match of the day goes to 1 doubles. When the girls were down 5-4 in the second set, they composed themselves and did not panic; they focused on playing their patterns and working as a team. It paid off with a win and some self-awareness.”
After the match, Rachel VanHouten said, "We learned a lot about ourselves and what we need to work on."
The Raiders next match is at Lakewood on Thursday the 12th.
