Obituary for Joann M. Krausz

Age 80, of Portland, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Joann was born on July 24, 1937 in Ionia, the daughter of Vern and Gladys (Essex) Simmons. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and going to the casino. Joann was a member of Project Lookout- Michigan State Police, she loved the town of Ionia and going to Meijer and visiting with people. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son, Douglas; infant daughter, Diane; her parents; brother, John Simmons; and sister, Joyce Getts. Surviving are her children, Debbie (Gary) Miller, David (Denise) Krausz, and Dan Krausz; grandchildren, Megan (Jeff) Fitts, Rebecca Miller, Lyndsay (Ryan) Holmes, Austin Krausz, Jordan Krausz, Mitchell Krausz, Samantha Krausz and Joshua Krausz; daughter-in-law, Audrey Krausz; and sister, Janice VanSiclen.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral chapel.
