Warning to readers: Some of what you will read in this piece is true, but most of is pure fabrication. This is a satire piece. It is all in good fun. Reader discretion is advised.
They needed a police escort to get out of Eagle Days due to a mob of unruly groupies. They have trashed dressing rooms across mid-Michigan. They still have a four-digit unpaid tab at some bar near Jackson, and they caused St. Patrick Summerfest 2017 organizers to bring in additional security in what was dubbed as their “last show ever.”
Well apparently, they already drank up all their retirement funds… because they are back.
The local rock cover band, “Skank” has announced that they will be rocking the Oakwood Lounge in Pewamo on February 24th. Show starts at 8:00 PM.
Peter Skank on bass, Blaze Skank on drums, Blackie Skank on lead guitar and Skip Skank with vocals, the sketchy rockers are reuniting to bring you what they describe as, “four decades of skanky rock and roll.”
With rock hits from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, this band often shows utter disregard for personal space.
Originally started in 2015, they think, this band is known for their questionable character, bad attitudes, and even worse fan base.
Unless you are a fan of cheap perfume, excessive hair spray and over the hill rock stars, I would advise you not attend this show.
In all seriousness, as someone who graduated from high school in the mid-90s, I have had an absolute blast at the multiple Skank shows that I have attended. I am not a big concert person, but the second half of this show is right in my chronological wheelhouse. I would recommend this show to any 40 to 50 somethings out there… just leave your valuables at home.
