Local Businessmen Named to Statewide Groups

A pair of local businessmen were recently selected to hold prominent positions in statewide organizations in their respective fields, while a third was recognized for his years of service.

Terry Frewen, Broker/Owner at Coldwell Banker Frewen Realty, was selected to serve on the Michigan Realtors Public Policy Committee for 2018. According to the Michigan www.mirealtors.com, “This committee is responsible for reviewing current political issues, legislative bills and making decisions to support or oppose on behalf of the Realtor® membership.” The appointment will be for the 2018 calendar year.

According to the group’s web site, “Michigan Realtors® is an integrated advocacy and communications force for the real estate professionals of our State. We are the recognized public policy and legal advocate for private property rights, as well as the acknowledged leading resource for professional development, knowledge exchange, and wide-ranging business services.”

Frewen currently serves on the association’s Broker Summit task force and the Realtor Scholarship task force.

Randy Foote of B & W Auto Supply has been elected to Michigan Automotive Parts Association (MAPA) Board of Directors.

According to MAPA Executive Director Debbie Cook, “During a recent December 5th board meeting held in Lansing, Michigan, the Michigan Automotive Parts Association (MAPA), Randy Foote of B & W Auto Supply located at 828 E. Grand River in Portland, Michigan was elected to the Michigan Automotive Parts Association board of directors. Randy begins his term as At-Large board director effective January 1, 2018. With this election, Randy fills his father, Wayne Foote’s seat when Wayne’s term ends at 12/31/17 after seven years as an At-Large board director of Michigan Automotive Parts Association. B & W Auto Supply has been a supporting member of the Michigan Automotive Parts Association since 1972.”

Cook added that Wayne Foote was also recognized for years of service to the MAPA board. “During our December 5th board meeting held in Lansing, Michigan, Wayne received special recognition for his seven years of outstanding service and dedication on MAPA’s board of directors.”

According to the group’s press release, “Michigan Automotive Parts Association (MAPA) is a non-profit state trade association representing independently owned automotive parts stores, warehouse distributors, rebuilders, service repair facilities, manufacturers, remanufacturers and associate members within Michigan’s automotive aftermarket industry. MAPA’s mission is to provide its members with business and educational information relative to the sale of automotive replacement parts, promote the automotive aftermarket industry, provide legislative and regulatory advocacy and to enable group purchasing of member service programs. Founded in 1953 by three independent Michigan jobbers, MAPA today represents over 400 automotive aftermarket businesses in Michigan.”
