Portland Civic Players Bring Christmas Classic to the Stage

Looking for something to help get you in the Christmas spirit? Then look no further than our own local civic theater group. The Portland Civic Players have been a part of the Portland Community for 62 years. This year they are bringing the classic 1946 Christmas tale, It’s a Wonderful Life the Musical, to their stage. Based on the beloved film, this musical faithfully follows George Bailey's life from his childhood dreams to his midlife disappointments and beyond, as we all take a journey to discover whether his life has mattered at all.

Directed by Sherry Miller and Tom Little this production features a large cast with George Hilton as George Bailey, Lydia Wilson as Mary, and Joe Christian as Clarence the angel. Rounding out the cast is Bob Logan, Aiden Pung, Bryson Krieger, Abe Chadwick, Richard Hans, Amy Leachman, Eric Proctor, Donna Sines, Chuck Dibean, Chris Horvath, Nancy Bedenbender, Tom Little, Deb Hattis, Roger Miller, Bob Stevens, Antonius Watkins, James Wohlfert, Tiffany Barron, Laurie Reeves, Dawn Dancer, Mariah Lawler, Iggy Arleth, Emerson Dibean, Ryan Watkins, Joyce Christian, Kristi Dibean, Tyler Tichvon, Betty Hanson, Amy Huss, Anna Latham, Katlyn Shaw, Quinn Volk, Sophie Griffes, Keagan Krieger, Abby Rice, Calliope Miller, Wade Dibean, Faith Smith, Logan Reeves, Mary Timmer, Mary-Beth Wohlfert, Isabell Nelson, Cecelia Little, Natalie Bengel, Emma McKinney, Preston Dibean, Clayton Rice, Jake Olson, Danny Little, Sam Thelen, Jack Thelen, Rory Miller, and Terry Austen.

With book and lyrics by Keith Ferguson and music by Bruce Greer, this show is from the screenplay by Francis Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra and Joe Swirling. It is produced by special arrangement with Play Scripts, Inc. TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW. Show dates are December 1, 2, 8 and 9 (Holiday Fest day!) at 7:30 and December 3 and 10 at 2:30.
