Looking for something to help get you in the Christmas spirit? Then look no further than our own local civic theater group. The Portland Civic Players have been a part of the Portland Community for 62 years. This year they are bringing the classic 1946 Christmas tale, It’s a Wonderful Life the Musical, to their stage. Based on the beloved film, this musical faithfully follows George Bailey's life from his childhood dreams to his midlife disappointments and beyond, as we all take a journey to discover whether his life has mattered at all.
Directed by Sherry Miller and Tom Little this production features a large cast with George Hilton as George Bailey, Lydia Wilson as Mary, and Joe Christian as Clarence the angel. With book and lyrics by Keith Ferguson and music by Bruce Greer, this show is from the screenplay by Francis Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra and Joe Swirling.
